Calgary Airport to Banff Transfer: Booking Checklist
Have your flight number, hotel name and luggage count ready. Those details help us confirm the right journey before you leave home.
By Bow Valley Chauffeur · Updated October 20, 2026
The short checklist
- Direction: Calgary Airport to your hotel, or your hotel to Calgary Airport.
- Travel date, flight number and scheduled arrival or departure time.
- Your Banff or Canmore hotel, selected from the approved hotel dropdown.
- Number of passengers, suitcases and any oversized equipment.
- A phone number we can reach on your travel day.
- Return date and flight details if you need both journeys.
1. Give the flight details, not just a pickup time
For a YYC arrival, send your flight number and scheduled landing time. Landing is not the same as being ready to leave: you still need to collect your luggage and, for international arrivals, clear customs. We track your flight and coordinate the meeting with you. Read the airport pickup instructions before travelling.
For a hotel-to-airport journey, send your departing flight details so we can discuss your hotel pickup time. The drive from Calgary Airport to Banff is roughly 140 km and about 1 hour 30 minutes in normal conditions; winter weather can extend it. Follow your airline’s check-in guidance rather than treating the drive time as the entire airport allowance.
2. Confirm your hotel is on our approved list
We only provide transfers between YYC and the approved Banff and Canmore hotels in our booking dropdown. Choose the actual hotel for each leg. If you are staying at a private home or a property not listed, ask us before making plans; do not assume we can collect or drop you there. This is an airport-transfer service, not a sightseeing or ski-hill shuttle.
3. Count bags as well as people
Our GMC Yukon XL carries up to 5 passengers and has room for 5 large suitcases. There is no roof box. Ski, snowboard or golf bags, a stroller and other bulky items can change what fits alongside regular luggage. Send the equipment count before booking so we can confirm the space for your particular group.
Child seats are not supplied. If your child needs a seat or booster, bring your own and tell us in advance.
4. Check the winter window before choosing a flight
From November 1 through February 28, our service operates in daylight hours only: YYC arrivals by 3:30 PM and hotel departures from 7:30 AM. All trips are reserved in advance. March through October, around-the-clock transfers are available by advance reservation.
A flight delay does not override the winter safety window. If your arrival is close to the cutoff, discuss it with us before booking. If a delay puts you outside the window, contact us to discuss arrangements; do not assume a late-night transfer is available.
5. Know the whole-vehicle fare and when you pay
YYC ↔ Banff is CA$475 one way; YYC ↔ Canmore is CA$425 one way. Both are private whole-vehicle fares for up to 5 passengers, not per-person prices. There is no deposit. Payment is collected as you enter the vehicle, using the in-car Square terminal for cards, or cash, e-transfer or invoice. See rates and the seasonal schedule.
6. Plan the return journey separately
Your arrival flight and return flight need separate dates and timing details. If you change hotels during your stay, give the hotel for each journey. For return planning, use our Banff to Calgary Airport page or Canmore departure page.
