Yes. Every transfer is fully private and exclusive to your party. We do not operate shared shuttles or combine bookings — your vehicle, your schedule, from start to finish.

Every ride is fully stocked with complimentary amenities, listed from our most premium touches down to the everyday essentials: mountain-weather umbrellas; Lindor chocolate truffles and full-size chocolate bars; Loacker wafer cookies; Biscoff cookies; peanuts; Pringles; Canadian maple syrup (a small take-home bottle); compact backpacks; compact reusable water bottles; Pur mints; Kleenex tissues; sanitary wipes; pens and notepads; rain ponchos; HotHands hand warmers; phone chargers with every input (Lightning, USB-C, Micro-USB); and a Fire tablet loaded with Netflix for in-ride entertainment. Bottled water and full luggage assistance are always included. Guests travelling with young children are welcome to bring their own car seat or booster; we're happy to install it. Please note: Bow Valley Chauffeur is strictly a direct airport transfer service — we do not offer sightseeing, wildlife viewing, or stops en route.

Is there Uber or Lyft in Banff?

No. Neither Uber nor Lyft operates in Banff or inside Banff National Park. Ground transportation is limited to licensed operators like Bow Valley Chauffeur, taxis, and hotel shuttles — which is why booking your transfer in advance is essential.

Do I need to tip the chauffeur in Canada?

Gratuity is not included and is always at your discretion. In Canada, 15–20% is customary for good service, similar to the United States. Australian and UK guests often tip 10–15%. Cash or card is welcome, and we never expect it.

All pricing is in Canadian Dollars (CAD). We accept major international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) as well as e-transfer. Your bank handles the currency conversion at the current exchange rate.

How and when do I pay for the ride?

Payment is collected in-vehicle by your chauffeur at the end of the transfer using a Square card terminal mounted in the car. We accept tap, chip, and swipe on all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. A proper physical receipt is printed on the spot, and an emailed digital receipt is available on request. No pre-authorization or deposit is taken at the time of booking.

Do you meet international arrivals inside the terminal?

Yes. Once you have cleared Canadian customs and collected your bags, we meet you at Bus Bays 1–36, located directly outside the arrivals level baggage carousel exits. You will receive our driver's name and phone number before your flight.

How far in advance should I book from the US or Australia?

For peak season (June–September and December–March) we recommend booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance. Shoulder-season bookings can often be arranged with 48 hours notice, but earlier is always better to guarantee availability.

Do you drive at night during fall and winter?

For guest safety, from November 1 through February 28 we operate daylight hours only. In Alberta during these months, sunrise is around 8:00–8:30 AM and full darkness sets in by 5:00–5:30 PM. The stretch of Trans-Canada Highway between Canmore and Calgary is unlit, and wildlife (elk, deer, bighorn sheep) plus black ice make after-dark driving genuinely risky. During fall/winter, all pickups from YYC must arrive no later than 3:30 PM, and hotel departures from Banff/Canmore must be scheduled no earlier than 7:30 AM to reach YYC in daylight. If your flight lands after these cutoffs in the winter months, we'll recommend an overnight in Calgary and pick you up the following morning. From March 1 through October 31, we operate 24/7 with no restrictions.

There is no train or scheduled flight into Banff, so every arrival is a road journey of roughly 140 km west on the Trans-Canada Highway. Your options are a private transfer, a shared shuttle bus, a regional coach, or a rental car. With us it is a private chauffeured SUV: we track your inbound flight, meet you after baggage claim, walk you to a numbered bus bay (1–36) outside arrivals, and drive direct to your Banff hotel door for a flat CA$475 covering the vehicle and up to 5 passengers.

We meet you inside your Banff hotel lobby (or at your rental address) at a pickup time set around your flight, load your luggage, and drive direct to Calgary International departures — no shared ride and no other stops. The flat rate is CA$475 for the vehicle, up to 5 passengers. Between November 1 and February 28 we operate daylight hours only, so Banff departures are scheduled no earlier than 7:30 AM.

About 140 km, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes in normal conditions. Canmore is closer at about 105 km, roughly 1 hour 15 minutes. Winter weather, Calgary rush hour, or long-weekend traffic can add 15–30 minutes, which we build into your pickup time.

Can I be picked up directly from my Banff or Canmore hotel?

Yes — every transfer is door-to-door. In Banff we meet you inside the hotel lobby; in Canmore we come to your resort entrance, condo lobby, or rental driveway. We serve any address in either town, including vacation rentals. We are an independent chauffeur service and are not an official transportation provider for, or in partnership with, any hotel.

Can I visit Banff or Canmore without renting a car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and many guests do. Downtown Banff and Canmore are both walkable, and Roam public transit connects the two towns. The thing to plan for is that Uber and Lyft do not operate in the Bow Valley, so your airport legs need to be pre-booked with a licensed operator, a taxi, or a hotel shuttle. Booking a private transfer at each end is the simplest car-free arrangement.

Yes. The GMC Yukon XL SLE has room for a full set of luggage for the party plus ski or snowboard bags and golf clubs, and your equipment travels with you in the same vehicle rather than following on a later shuttle. Tell us your equipment count when you book so the load is planned in advance.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

We track your inbound flight number, so an early or delayed landing simply shifts your pickup — there is nothing for you to re-arrange and no rebooking fee. If a delay is long enough to push your arrival past our winter daylight cutoff (landings must be no later than 3:30 PM from November 1 to February 28), we will discuss the options with you in advance, which usually means an overnight in Calgary and a morning departure.

How early should I arrive at Calgary Airport before my flight?

We are not the airline, so treat this as general guidance rather than official policy: most travellers plan on about two hours before a domestic departure and about three hours before an international one, then add the drive (roughly 1 hr 30 min from Banff, 1 hr 15 min from Canmore) plus a buffer for winter roads. Check your airline's own recommendation, tell us your flight time, and we will confirm a pickup time that works.
