A Blown Engine in Tennessee
The honest version: Bow Valley Chauffeur started because of a road trip that didn't go to plan.
The founder took a road trip in her old GMC Terrain from Edmonton, Alberta all the way down to Florida to visit family. Somewhere in a small town in Tennessee, the engine gave up completely — leaving her stranded a long way from home, with a lot of time to think.
After the visit she made her way back up to Alberta, traded the Terrain in on a brand-new GMC Yukon, and took a hard look at the airport transfer scene between Calgary and Banff. She saw the competition, saw where guests were being let down — tired drivers, tired vehicles, no real hospitality — and decided the same job could be done, but properly.
That's the whole origin story. One broken engine, one new Yukon, and a promise to run a mountain transfer service the way any traveller would want to be treated after a long flight into the Rockies.
