What to do in Banff in March

  • Spring skiing at Sunshine Village, which holds snow into May.
  • Longer afternoons for gondola rides and Bow Valley Parkway drives.
  • Wildlife becomes more visible as elk move to lower ground.

What to pack

  • Waterproof outer layer — spring snow is wetter.
  • Sunscreen; UV at 1,400 m plus snow reflection burns fast.
  • Boots that handle slush as well as ice.
