Getting from YYC to Norquay

The airport leg is the same Trans-Canada run as any Banff transfer: about 1 hour 40 minutes to the townsite. Norquay itself is a short switchback road climbing north out of Banff, and the resort runs a free shuttle from downtown hotels through the winter season.

We drop you at your Banff hotel at the published CA$475 flat rate per vehicle. From there Norquay is a 15-minute hop on the resort shuttle — no rental car, no parking, no winter tires to worry about.

Why Norquay suits arrival and departure days

Sunshine and Lake Louise are full-day commitments. Norquay is 60 runs on a compact footprint with a day lodge at the base, which makes it the sensible choice when you have a half day either side of a flight. It also runs night skiing on select evenings and the Norquay Sightseeing Chairlift in summer, with a tea house at the top.

  • Closest lift-served skiing to Banff townsite.
  • Free winter shuttle from downtown Banff hotels.
  • Night skiing on select evenings through the season.
  • Summer chairlift, via ferrata, and mountaintop views over the Bow Valley.

Winter service hours

From November 1 to February 28 we run daylight hours only — YYC arrivals by 3:30 PM, hotel departures from 7:30 AM. The Bow Valley highway is unlit with real wildlife and black-ice risk after dark. If your flight lands outside that window, get in touch and we will help you plan around it.
